Hello and Welcome to Step by Step Autism.

My name is Xiomara (See-oh-ma-ra) and I am navigating the early years after the autism diagnosis of my eldest child.

I realised that I needed to know more about Autism, so I can care better for my child. I did not know where to start. This is why I decided to make my learning journey public, so that you (either a parent or recently diagnosed person with autism) can join me in the journey.

Recently, someone told me that “if we know better, we do better” and that phrase summarised the mission for this page.

Thank you for joining me in this journey. This is meant to be a journey walked in company and I hope that’s how you feel when you come here. I acknowledge that everyone of us experience Autism in different ways, I will do my best to cover all areas, but if I am lacking and I will, I welcome feedback and more information.
